RESUME
Matt Plahuta is a Licensed General Contractor in both California and Colorado.
Matt was the recipient of the Residential Remodeling Award in 2003 and again in 2004; placing 1st in the categories of "Details" and "Additions".
In 1994, Matt was the Project Manager on the Planet Hollywood Restaurant in Maui, Hawaii.
In 1989, Matt was the Project Manager for the prestigious Buccellatti Jewelers in the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, CA. This project was especially rewarding for Matt because he was active in the transformation of original Louis XIV Style Woodworking. All of the woodwork was removed from a property in France and transported to California. Matt was responsible for coordinating efforts between the millwork in France and the final installation.
The Planet Hollywood Restaurant as well as the Buccellatti Jewelers, were both constructed within buildings that were designated Historical Landmarks. This reinforced Matt's love of older buildings and the importance of preserving the original architectural style.
In 1993, Matt was the Project Manager for a custom home remodel, from the ground up, in Malibu, CA. Matt enjoyed working a stone's throw from the beach and incorporating architectural features into the overall design, as well as managing the day-to-day construction. Matt had this to say about the project, "The relationship between the homeowner and design team created the perfect home."
Throughout most of the 80s and 90s, Matt worked largely in Colorado. He is a highly recognized home builder; winning awards for his work in residential remodeling.
Matt was the recipient of the following awards through the
National Association of the Remodeling Industry.

Matt has worked on various commercial projects as well. His commercial work has been exclusively building specialty restaurants with a one-of-a kind uniqueness.
Early in Matt's career, he traveled to Saudi Arabia to work on a modern day palace for one of the princes. He worked with a specialty subcontractor and gained valuable experience working with various factors. This project involved not only another culture and environmental factors, but it was an intercultural collaboration involving, Korean, Pilipino, Saudi, and American workers.
